A Natural & Neutral Nursery for Baby Boy
August 2, 2016Everyone goes through pregnancy differently. Some people are the ultimate planners they are on top of every of it and know what to expect every step of the way. Others go through pregnancy relaxed, they go with the flow & there is me, the ultimate procrastinator, shooting at the hip and it as it comes, one step at a time. The day before I gave birth I finally finished the nursery. The truth is, newborn babies, don’t need much when they are first born! All they really need is a whole lot of diapers, a bassinet & a whole lot of love, so when friends would ask me if my nursery was finished, I wasn’t in a panic, even though I was putting together the nursery so last minute. I figured worst-case scenario, when the baby comes we will figure it out plus, the baby won’t know if a room is well decorated or not anyway! Whether you are a natural planner or shoot from the hip kind of gal, make sure your nursery is functional and fits your lifestyle.
With that being said, the day that I was induced I finally finished the final touches of our little nursery. I wanted the nursery to be peaceful, serene, and most of all gender-neutral. It was important to me to have a space that was not only bright & clean but a space that if I had multiple babies I wouldn’t have to repaint and redecorate. I stuck with white & walnut furniture and accented with black, grey & a splash of blue. I hope you enjoy photos of the room I am currently spending all my time in! See below for details on where I got all the pieces to put together the nursery!

There are so many details that I love about the nursery! My absolute favorite details include my Boppycover from Sweetheart N Sunshine and the incredibly soft prayer blanket from Sugarboo Designs. The Navy Tomahawk Boppy cover makes nursing a little bit more fun and adds more texture to a simple nursery. Laura’s sweet Etsy shop is to die for and she makes the most incredible custom nursery items, it will defiantly not disappoint.
The blanket from Sugar Boo designs I cannot say enough amazing things about. I received it as a gift from a close friend at my shower and every time I read the prayer on this blanket I can’t help but cry. The blanket reads:
“Lord, look down from above and touch this special child with love. Protect and guide this little one until each and every day is done. Remind us often that its true: that this gift is from you. A miracle you’ve sent our way. Lord, bless this little child today. “
If you’re looking for a baby shower gift, this blanket… will be a memorable one!
