Dear Miles,

You have changed my life in the most remarkable way. It’s a testament to how wonderful this journey through motherhood has been since I can honestly say that I would go back and do this year over again. I’m not saying it was all sunshine and daisies because there were many difficult moments but, I would do it just so I could soak up more of your sleepy smiles, your little giggles and all of your slobbery kisses. You have taught me so much about myself, you have changed me from the inside out. I have grown into a better person because of you and you have opened my eyes to a whole new life. I see things in a different light, I appreciate the moments, I’ve slowed down and, I am forever grateful each and every single day spent with you.

I know that you are only one right now, but I hope that you always know that we are here to support you in all that life throws your way. Dad and I both love you so much and, there are so many people that care about you. God loves you and has a plan for you. If you read this one day I hope that you know that, you were made for a purpose. God has planned every single day of your life even before you took your first breath and knows every single event that will happen in your life.

Before you were born, you were in the mind of God. It wasn’t fate, chance, coincidence or luck that you were made and are here today. God wanted you — he wanted your strengths, your weaknesses, your personality and your life to fill this earth. You are God’s masterpiece, you are special and, you were created to fulfill an incredible purpose, meant for only you. No one else could have made you, and Dad and I are so grateful to be apart of your life.

The Bible says, “you made my whole being; you formed in me in my mothers body. I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way.. You saw my bones being formed as I took shape in my mothers body. When i was put together there, you saw my body as it was formed. All the days planned for me were written in your book before I was a day old” – Psalm 129:13-16

It’s crazy to think that it was not that long ago that we took you home from the hospital so scared and nervous to be a new parent. With a year under our belts, the greatest thing we have learned is that all we can do is our best, all we can give you is all our love, and hope that God will take care of the rest.

We love you Miles. Thank you for the greatest adventure of our lives.
