Directions:
To make the French Toast: Spray the baking pan with baking spray, or grease with butter. In a mixing bowl combine, eggs, milk, salt, cinnamon and whisk until mixture is an even consistency. Cut the French bread, or your bread of choice into small 1 inch cubes, and fill the baking pan with bread. Pour the egg mixture over the bread evenly. Drizzle topping on top of the bread mixture. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and store in the fridge until the morning. – This recipe can be made immediately away as well, simply pour the mixture evenly onto the bread and stick in the oven. The flavors mend together better if left overnight but either way is delicious.
When you are ready to make your friend toast Preheat your oven to 350 Degrees, uncover casserole and bake for 45 minutes. Serve hot & top with syrup if desired.
To make the topping: In a mixing bowl combine, cinnamon, salt, brown sugar and melted butter, stir with a fork until the mixture is evenly stirred. Add walnuts, chocolate chips, shredded coconut or optional toppings if you would like! Drizzle on top of the casserole!
If you have extra, reheating is easy! Just cover your french toast and bake for 10-15 minutes.
Enjoy!
